Stars in Our Troupe
Hong,Yi jia's mother recognized a very special quality in her daughter at a very early age. She allowed her daughter to choose to study dance at the age of 3. By the time she was 4 years old she added gymnastics and acting to her training. It wasn't long before she was invited to become a member of the Shanghai Children's Dance Troupe. As a result of one of those performances 7-year old Miss Hong was asked to become a member of the Shanghai Magic Troupe Acrobatic Academy. After two years of basic acrobatics training Miss Hong began training to perform an act considered to be the most difficult of the Chinese Acrobatic Arts, the Nose Balance. This requires not only the skill of balance but also strength and contortion. Miss Hong wants to become proficient in all forms of acrobatics. She added magic to her repertoire in 1998. A consummate artist, she loves the life of a performer and plans to continue as long as possible. She thinks that someday she may become a coach, but that is a long way off. When not performing she enjoys shopping, chatting on the Internet with friends, going to the disco and playing pool. She especially enjoys long quiet walks in the parks of Shanghai.
